You mean a switch 2 game card key? Basically, a regular game card stores the game on the card. A game card key instead is essentially housing a digital license that the switch 2 recognizes and lets you then download the game from the eshop. Supposedly this is because game cards only come in one standard size and this would allow publishers to still release """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""physical""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" versions even if the game is too big or too small to warrant the price of the actual card. You still need the card to play the game even though its a download, the game won't launch without the card in the switch. BUT it's not a one time use and it doesn't count as like a download code, you can sell the card on the second hand market and someone can still buy it and download the game and run it just fine.

So basically think of it as a digital version that you can still resell. I assume the most obvious thing switch 2 modders will look into is a way to spoof the ability to say you have the specified card in the switch bypassing the DRM but we're probably a ways away from that.
