Doesn't seem like there is any winning for either option these people go for, if they respond favorably they "don't get it", if they respond unfavorably or even neutral they are "mad".

I doubt these streamers/podcasters can even just ignore it either, since someone is inevitably going to spam their chat or keep calling in about it, and when they get banned or squelched they will go on twitter and cry about it and how mad the creators are about someone else making fun of them. No different from any other inter-streamer drama really, people will look for an issue even if there isn't one.
