We couldn't figure him out. We couldn't consume him. And we will theorize and wander about him forever until we get a final answer.
Weird Route will finally reveal Gaster's identity (Just like Flowey in New Home), putting him back together for once, satisfying our curiosity and thus killing him. He will mirror Flowey's death in Genocide.
