Theory time.
Is she just mad at love in general? Does she think she should be with someone like minded who can't fall in love or was hurt? Just.. wallowing in some kinda self pity together bringing each other down? So she was content just seeing him unhappy everyday and when she realized he might want to move on from her and find happiness she had to latch on and drag him down? Except it's backfiring into her actually getting to like him because it's impossible to be sad just cause you want to be sad?
