You’re on the right wrong track here.. at least according to me. Think of it like this. Man has slaves who collect cotton and get whipped when not working. God has creations who get whipped when they transgress against themselves. When God punishes you it’s out of love because you’re his creation. When a slave master punishes you it’s out of greed for the profit of his business. Or you could even break it down like this what falls upon you as “punishment” is your own doing with the abuse of your gift. Self transgression. Or something. Anyone feel free to step in at me.
