OP song is better than the original, but OP animation is worse and less iconic.
>the Water and Oil episode
INCREDIBLY reminiscent of the first episode of the series, and almost feels like it was initially intended to be the proper pilot episode before they would wrap it up with the twenty two minute one. Typically excellent animation and fun character interactions, and that fucking music that plays during the diner shootout sounds fantastic, but overall it isn't doing anything the series hasn't done before. Also, good crumbs of Kneesocks and Stocking interaction; Scanty and Panty hate one another, but their sisters like one another.
>the card game episode
This episode had a lot more of the "we do obscene things with sex and sex toys on screen, laugh" humor that never landed for me in the original series, as well as a pastiche of a genre that I'm not big into, but it's a lot of good Panty. I'm a big Magic and Yugioh fag and it was nice to see such transparent references, but that alone wasn't enough . This, however, is not a season 2 or trigger distinct thing, and don't let anyone on /a/ try to convince you that the origina series didn't delve into the exact type of comedy this episode does.
The fan service also doesn't do much for me, but it literally never has.
As an aside: FUCK TRIGGER FOR RELEASING THESE EPISODES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WORK WEEK. For most anons here they're either just before their lunch break for Burgers, or still commuting home from work for Eurofags
