I feel like Andrew wins at tag was done the way it was specificlaly to dispell this.
He tries to talk to her as if she was still there, but then the realization of what happened hits him when her neck just about snaps off, and he accepts that whatever fantasy he may have had is well and truly gone.
He might've tried to entertain this, but her head almost snapping off just made him realize that she's not there, and he just kills himself slowly, both to punish himself, and to hold her one last time, forever...
