The arbitrary assumption that Nazi automatically equates to the historical NSDAP party is completely ludicrous. The part that made them "national socialist" as opposed to "German" specifically can be adopted by anyone.
Saying the opposite is like saying you can't be a communist because you're not part of the First Internationale.
No one is claiming to be a gold badge member of the NSDAP, they're saying they're national socialists.
