I just finished re-reading Bakunin's "God and the State", and I was striken by how there is absolutely no fetishization of the working class in early socialist theory. They really started from the point that the most enslaved people are also the most mentally stunted. They are absolutely ready to hear worker spout ignorant shit, and educating the masses was therefore one of their main missions.
The absolute opposite of the "everyone is entitled to their truth" mentality of today's left.
I'm not surprized that the russian serfs are the most theistic, the most servile, the less imaginative people on earth. It's a consequence of their enslavement.
