Our bodies are temples. Remember Jesus's parable about the potter, and the story in genesis about God making us from the earth and breathing life into us. I 100% believe that our bodies are vessels/temples, and that spirits other than our own can manifest in our bodies. I have seen and felt demons manifest in people personally, as well as the Holy Spirit. The bond/relationship between spiritual and physical is 100% real. And there are entities that once had a physical body that no longer do and they want ours. Some lost souls even allow them to enter in exchange for knowledge and "power". Most people in places of authority today have probably done so imo.
