It's just devs not really understanding the medium and audience. It went from a slice-of-life love story to some ultra-drama out of nowhere. And, it being a WEG, that means a few years as slice-of-life to build up the fanbase interested in that casual fuckery, then just dropping a piano on the entire fan base out of nowhere. If the dev wanted a drama, they should have started it with that.
