going second as portalcraft is 100% better every time since you can play alouette and immediately start chunking the opponent for 3 damage or clear the board if their swordcraft. Would argue its just getting the hang of it. if your struggling to craft Y mechs, you just need to combine two 5/1 or 1/5 mechs instead of one of them and 3 amulets which makes it cost 4 total instead of 5
