Ok question for smarty pants, why does it take 2 hours longer to travel East to West from Sydney Australia to Jonhanesburg S. Africa than the opposite flight?
If the earth is rotating to the east then the flight from Sydney to Johanesburg should see the destination get closer and closer as the plane travels west and eventually meet at some mid-way point, whilst the trip from Johanesburg to Sydney the earth is rotating AWAY from the flight direction so that the plane is ever trying to catch up to the destination, yet the flight time is less.. Explain that smarty pants.
