Hold on… if a character made a serious mistake, why is it that we mock the character specifically instead of saying “Oda is a bad writer”? Is it a testament to good writing?

Ace glazed Whitebeard to death, both in the figurative and literal sense. If it was any other writer, I’d critique the writer, but since we knew Ace for a while and had a proper look at his backstory, we’re all blaming the character for being an idiot.
