Absolutely fascinating dude. During the war against Iraq in the 80's he was stranded behind enemies lines and knew Arabic well enough to sneak around with a stolen Iraqi uniform until he could get back to friendly territory.
When I think of military stories I've heard from friends who were involved in the GWOT they're mostly pointless(playing Xbox, camel spider pranks, giving out candy to kids, trying to find weapons caches) but here was a guy who spent decades fucking up his country's enemies. Literally the platonic ideal of a soldier.
