It started off small at first. Bionicle has strict elemental gender roles. Out of the main six elements only Toa/Matoran/Turaga of water can be female, and the rest of the robots were male. Didn't matter too much since love isn't canon. Anyways bionicle fans are all about building OCs and people wanted to make self inserts. So you had a million trannies making female toa of ice and fire and ridiculous shit like hate and evil and whatever the fuck autistic teenage trannies come up with.
At first nobody cared. But then discussion kept on going back to gender and trannies arguing as to why they should make it canon that any element can be any gender (and of course love should be canon!)
It got pretty bad after gen 2 was cancelled. Trannies went wild everywhere they went after 2016, and before you knew it a large portion of bionicle forum discussion was not just a pat yourself on the back pride parade, but genuine discussion insisting that Lewa was trans or Bionicle the Mask of Light was about trans acceptance. Trannies began demanding people on etsy make custom kanohi in cotton candy, and started to call out people they thought were anti-tranny. This was incredibly bad on Instagram, where underage trannies (groomed by adult trannies) had hard times accepting that most people unfortunately find trannies annoying at best. Basically devolved into the type of drama trannies cause in 4chan generals discord
Of course by the time we all wizened up it was too late. The communities were gone. All that was left were the fucking trannies, who also ruined the bioncicle canon contest.
