Vuslat Doğan Sabancı is a former publisher, media executive and businesswoman. She worked for of Hürriyet Media Group for twenty two years, eventually serving as CEO from 2004 to 2008. She played a prominent role in establishing Turkey’s Editorial Principles Board in 2013. She is a lifetime honorary board member of the International Press Institute. She has also been a board member of board member of Doğan Group of Companies and Hepsiburada. She is the deputy chair of the Aydın Doğan Foundation. Vuslat has attended both World Economic Forum and Atlantic Council meetings.

Vuslat Doğan Sabancı married Ali İsmail Sabancı of the elite Turkish Sabancı bloodline. Ali has been the Chairperson of Esas Holding and Pegasus Airlines, vice chairperson of Mars Athletic and a board member of Ayakkabı Dünyası, which consist of the Esas Private Equity portfolio. He also serves on the board of Esas Properties. The Sabancı family is an elite Turkish bloodline who own Hacı Ömer Sabancı Holding A.Ş., an industrial and financial conglomerate. They are involved in the financial services, banking, energy, cement, retail and industrial sectors. Akbank is a subsidiary bank of Hacı Ömer Sabancı Holding A.Ş.
