Weirdly... yes? Even tho i find it gross and id never want to be poly myself.

I think id rather interpret my thoery as: having friends, and then choosing one friend at a time to be intimate with, rather than all at the same time.

Im no expert however and it should be noted im basing most of my theory on Oranguntans.
