No. Even back then, as a teenager/young adult I did not like the faux Gamer™ culture, or as we called them back then filthy casuals. No, pandering to my sexuality did not make it better.

They were still blatant corporate shills, they just did not learn to use Social Justice shit as a diversion/shield. CoD and WoW becoming cultural touchstones could arguably be said to be the reason we live in the current always online, grindy, monetized to hell and back hellscape. It was the start of the end, not something we should celebrate or be nostalgic for.
The games of the era, even WoW? Sure. Of course. Everything else in that era? Yea I get being nostalgic about. Megan Webb and the other women of that era were hot, that was great n all. Hell, I get even being nostalgic about watching TechTV/G4 from that era. But the Network and the whole culture that was pushed by it? No. I cannot say I miss it. Because it's the same shit we have today, but less gay. It never really left to be missed.
