heisenberg wasn't kept out of academia. wasn't even a jew as far as i know. he was involved in reasearch for the german 'nuke' and was head of the kaiser wilhelm institut for physics. his grandson is leading some microbiology institute in dresden now. they built a very ugly villa in the poshest hilly neighbourhood around. oh, and maybe refrain from using the jew term nazi.
