You're absolutely right, it was perfect timing in every regard really. The interminable wait for EN3, endless homo shilling, month after month where so many en holos were on break you might be lucky to get one or two streams a day. Cover must have known they really had to get it right with EN3 and credit to them, they knocked it out of the park with Advent. It really can't be overstated how important FWMC and Advent's success has been. It's kind of crazy to see the small-time "yabs" and drama of now when you remember just how bad it was for a while there.

I followed them from the before times, but I think I would've been excited about it regardless, it was just something that made it even better. I was a literally who then and I'm a literally who now, and that's exactly what I want (I even used an alt to watch them for 90% of the time back in the day) but I've been watching Hololive for a long time, it was such a unique concept and I knew with the right setup it would work incredibly well. I think that's one reason the threads were so hype, you had people from back then trying to manifest it into reality, people who'd heard of them curious about how a twin channel would work, people who watched the other Holos looking forward to the new gen, it was just the perfect confluence of factors.
I will say that after months of posting "EN3, habeeb it" it was pretty fucking special to see entire threads cry out in joy
