It's not like "omg I love desaturated colors and less cartoony textures omnomnom give me more" but it's a fun game so you look past that after 5 minutes of playing. It's like adjusting to 30fps after playing a 60fps game for too long or vice-versa.
I am concurrently playing files on the N64, DS and Switch versions and it's not killing me.
