The more I play Kai, the more I realize how the route slop kills the momentum even more than the filler side quests and Grim Garten. It is normal that after a climactic moment at the end of a chapter you get a breather and things slow down, that's how it's always been. But in Kai you also switch the route at a peak. All you want is to see how the story goes on from here on out with the team you played with, even if shit will slow down, but instead you are thrust into another route, doing filler side quests in Edith or some shit. Just finished Basel with the Thors group, I was super excited after that climax and suddenly I'm back at Van's route. But at this point my momentum from Van's route's climax in the chapter before is long gone. Imagine how dumb that is. I fucking hate route slop.
