Rødt is not just a protest party anymore, it’s a serious political force in Norway. They want to reduce housing costs, stop privatization, and guarantee stable, affordable public services. They also propose massively expanding non-profit housing and protecting tenants from market speculation.
That will make it significantly easier for young people and couples to move out, settle down, and have children earlier.
But here’s the limit:
They don’t frame childbirth as a national duty.
Sp (Centre Party): Supports rural family life and local communities — implicitly pro-natalist.
I want a blend of Rødt and SP — call it Nordic socialism.
Nordic Socialism is a political vision that blends the economic justice and class solidarity of Rødt (R) with the cultural rootedness, rural dignity, and national self-reliance of Senterpartiet (Sp). It champions a strong welfare state not just to redistribute wealth, but to reproduce a healthy, sovereign society; one where working people can afford to raise families, stay in their communities, and pass something on. Nordic Socialism defends public ownership of key resources, non-market housing, and free education, while also protecting local industries, agrarian traditions, and cultural continuity from both neoliberal erosion and rootless globalism. It’s not isolationist, but insists that the democratic nation-state sets the direction. It’s socialist without being cosmopolitan, and nationalist without being chauvinist or a red-green fusion rooted in folk, land, and labor.
This is the future of the Nordic model.

Vi må absolutt motstå den snikende privatiseringen og markedsliberalismen som truer Norges sosiale grunnlag. I en tid hvor internasjonale organer som IMF presser Norge til å kutte i uføretrygden eller innføre sparetiltak, er det i det minste Rødt som tilbyr en klar motstandslinje. Partiet tilbyr et nasjonalistisk rammeverk forankret i nordisk sosialisme som vil gjenopprette Norges suverenitet ved å gjenvinne kontrollen over vår økonomi og våre ressurser fra globalt kapital og internasjonale institusjoner, og sikre at beslutninger om velferd, industri og sosialpolitikk tas demokratisk av nordmenn.
