Yes, absolutely. All battles are easily doable without having the meta supports, and getting all missions and story in events especially doesn't require you have the benefits of having the meta supports.
The meta supports are literally just about efficiency (looping) when farming. But even then events never ask you to farm THAT much that you couldn't just do it without looping.
