I simply recognize it for what it is: a young genre that hasn't been developed to its full potential. So long as people continue to believe in total stasis that "metal" requires bass, guitar, and drums while playing repetitions, it will never become what it could be. Imagine seriously believing a bunch of uneducated and untrained teenagers would craft a "perfect" album, or even a song for that matter.

There is a world where dynamics, timbral expression, form, and proper development merge with metal - and with such bands as Ad Nauseam or Ehnahre you are seeing that gradual process play out in real time (very slowly).
