The pope was just a tool for imperialistic globalism and Catholic theologists distorted the Theology to create a Doctrine that adapts to the historical moment.
Do we live in the feudal era? We create a doctrine that justifies serfdom and the feudal caste system.
Do we live in the Renaissance? We create a doctrine that paganizes the Church.
Do we live in the industrial age? We create a doctrine that incorporates revolutionary ideologies.
Do we live in the era of postmodernism? We create a doctrine that completely subjectivizes God and Christianity, presenting a god tailored to each individual.
Catholicism feels to me just a colorful syncretic attempt to strengthen the general feelings of a deist sui generis population with an institution that was once Christian, but that at the end of the day, has nothing to do with him.
Sola Scriptura and Soli Deo Gloria. That's what Christianity is all about. Everything else is added, which may be better, worse, or neutral. But it's an accidental addition after the fact, inconsequential to religious worship.
I don't want to worship God just because he fits with the moral values that my age printed on me accidentally, but because he is a transcendental God with his own essence.
