FDR's New Deal Capitalism was a good tweak on generic capitalism, worked for a while until Reagan and the GOP declared war on the New Deal and dismantled it. 90% marginal tax rates worked fairly well to keep a check on plutocracy and inequality. But once the rich figure out how to game the election system and herd the proles with foxnews propaganda, then plutocracy takes hold like a fungus and you cannot get rid of it.
