All the weapons are basically just "lock target, press button" but you need to know how they work still. IR missiles seek heat sources, SARH missiles are guided by a radar on the ground, ARH missiles use whatever data link source or radar for most of their flight but then use their own radar in last 10 km, optical munitions detect shapes/contrast, cruise missiles use GPS/inertial and don't follow moving targets, laser guided rockets require you to maintain lock + line of sight for entire flight. You can shoot an AGM from like 15km away, but it might be better to shoot it from 5km, so its still moving fast and is not easy prey for anti-air, etc.
