How often have you had a new idea to do anything - a new hobby, a new passion project - just for it to inevitably lead to nothing at all but disappointment?

I've been wanting to make YouTube videos for some time now, but every time, I fall down the same trap. The same trap which might be getting you as well.

It starts with an idea - an initial rush of excitement. You start planning the idea, researching the idea. In this case, a YouTube video.

This is where I approach my first hurdle: I start overthinking the topic.

Is this interesting?
Will anyone watch this?
Is this going to make me famous?
Is this going to get me lots of views?
Is this going to get me relentlessly ridiculed online?
