Passage through the Western Mountain range is nearly impossible.

Naval invasion from the South is the most viable option. It leads a somewhat "flat" path all the way to Tehran, avoiding narrow mountain passes.

Of course prior to invasion massive air strikes would need to take place to knock out anti-ship capabilities along the coast.
