How do we elevate society back towards aesthetic excellence again? Aesthetics used to be viewed in The West as a purpose of civilization, not seldom both initiated and managed by regents (take for example Louis XIV) as a central tenet. But, except for it being studied as a historical phenomenon, modern society seems to have largely abandoned its principles. Today, beauty seems to occur often by pure chance or by scattered efforts rather than by focused intention.
