Social Security just had it's largest drop in beneficiaries ever in its history. Initially it was thought this was due to accounts that were identified by DOGE as probable fraudulent but none of those cases have been resolved yet. For some other reason there were a bunch of deaths recently, far out of line with expectations or normal seasonal variations.
