It might have by whatever engagement metrics they use but I think it hit a very good sweet spot as far as difficulty vs investment. Engaging difficulty without requiring I schedule myself into Discord runs a week in advance, something I can pop into on a whim and reclear and generally enjoy myself. The 24 man size actually works in its favor in this regard, it's less intimate than an 8 man Extreme.

They're not removing the fight, just changing the way ASP is calculated and thus that's what they're asking about. I'll spare you the autism of fully explaining how ASP is calculated but essentially the "problem" with M6S is that there are very hyper-degenerate padding strategies (mitigating/healing through Mu enrage to pad on them for the entire duration of adds phase) that make parsing statics able to inflate someone's DPS to absurd levels, rank 1 on some jobs is 30~40% higher than rank 20. Because ASP by default is partially calculated using your DPS vs rank 1, it means having even one person do this on your job makes your ASP go into the complete super-ultra dumpster. If you care about your ASP, every other fight in the tier becomes near irrelevant with M6S left alone - sweating to try and get a smidgen of ASP here or there on other fights is meaningless when you're bleeding a shitton of ASP on specifically M6S. If anything, depending on your job and how the change goes through your ASP will actually rise. Chances are your current ASP is much worse than it "should" be for being 99th percentile because of how hard you're getting mogged by one or two guys doing 30% more DPS than everyone else in their personal padding static runs.
He's asking because depending on how they adjust it, M6S may be very important still. And so statics trying to parse have to plan accordingly because it's super ultra polarizing currently. You can think it's stupid but it's not what you're getting mad about still.
