I've mentioned this before in other threads, but yea, there's absolutely no comparison.
Season one is genuinely pretty fucking sad at times, it captures having a realistically fucked up group of friends perfectly.
Also I do genuinely love the way Charlie dresses in the first season, it's been inspiration for me since I've first watched it.
