The same thing applies to women, "fat" is the extreme case.
To be muscular still requires effort throughout one's life whereas it takes no effort to be fat other than to be extremely lazy. The fact that there are more "fat" women than muscular men is down to the simple fact that most are lazy and not because of some ordained ideal.
