Why is it that you can eat out everyday in other countries and still stay skinny, but in America if you don't count all your macros, eat chicken breasts and broccoli every day and cook everything yourself, you'll get fat?

I got fat eating out even when I was only eating twice a day. I move abroad for a month and don't cook and I lose weight still
