I just watched this and I spent the entire movie repeating the words "this is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes..." under my breath.
I fucking hated it. I was writhing around on the floor in front of the chair for the last 30 minutes it was so painful.

What a complete misfire. I liked Gunn's previous movies but he went too far here with all the immature jokes and silly shit. I didn't care for Snyder before but now I have a new appreciation for Cavill Superman and think the Snyderverse should be restored because it is so much better than this trash.

Superman is basically just Star Lord, making goofy remarks all the time and generally acting like a dumbass. He gets peed on by Krypto a lot too in a running joke which pays off with Krypto pissing on Lex to which Lex takes out kryptonite and kicks him in front of his gf. Superman also makes a comment about never snapping necks to the Justice Gang as a way to I guess shit on Snyder's version which seemed mean and out of place.

Lois Lane in this movie is the most wokest version yet. Her whole story is about taking down Lex Luthor who is a stand in for Trump mainly, but also a bit of Elon. Lex at the end says he's going to run for president to "make Metropolis great again", but the stuff about exploiting workers for his science projects is the Elon aspect.

Very bad movie. Between this and all the constant fart/dick/poop jokes I don't think audiences will connect to this Superman. It's even more comedically toned than Superman III, I don't know what Gunn was thinking.

If you don't mind Superman spoilers, they just stole Goku's lore and inserted it into Clark. He was sent by Jor-El to conquer Earth, lol.
