I like reading about girls getting captured and sold. The situation is hot.
But I prefer the girls born into it. They're just inherently better slaves. And more pleasant characters. Also, I never have to suspend any disbelief that they're okay with being a slave or that they're perfectly obedient. The idea that they're born into slavery is also a bit more interesting. I can easily imagine and relate to being a free person and being made a slave, but it's hard to imagine the perspective of someone born into it, who hasn't known any other way of life. So the the thought process is more interesting to read.
That's all about slaves in media, if you're asking which I would prefer to have? Still the latter, I'm too lazy and undisciplined to train a captured slave into something usable. And I'm too scared that I'd have to sleep with one eye open forever to keep someone like that around me as well. Born slave is significantly less work and risk. An uphill battle vs a downward slope.
