I never feel glad but when I do feel sad it doesn't make me feel sad in a way a closed one dying would feel, you're not supposed to be this heavily engaged into any medium that the barrier between reality and fiction starts breaking on the inside, if that happens then it's a YOU problem, if you feel like averting your eyes from anything even slightly negative even if the impact is nowhere near close to something happening to you in real life again it's a YOU problem, it doesn't make any story objectively bad.
When the last human on earth that's like me disappears you will no longer have an audience for sad stories and ergo you could make the argument that objectively now they've become bad, until then... YOU problem, and nothing wrong with that by the way so long as you admit it's just subjective bias.
