Why is the emperor such wife material?

Honestly, I didn't like her much at first. She was whatever, but when I actually read her events she seemed liked a sweetheart that very much learned her lesson. I know Rudolf lost 3 races in total, so I dunno which one the scripted loss is, but the aftermath was really sweet and cemented her as my favorite horse.
