Did you know that Stephen Fry was meant to headline a play alongside Rik Mayall?
Except Fry disappeared without telling anyone just three days in and fled to Belgium and was suicidal.
Back then it was blamed on stage fright but the real reason is that Fry was being investigated for noncing and he feared he was about to be exposed (hence why he fled the country).

Fry is well-connected however and the problem "disappeared" for him.
