This seems very old fashioned because it's so wistful and dramatic in presenting little details and emotions and expressions which actually don't amount to (much) progress, but it's not an old class S manga it's a modern one in a very different modern yuri manga enviroment. It hamfists and shoehorns in the "we'll make things pretty obvious to the reader but leave it unsaid/un-done by the characters". To me this atmosphere it has just comes off as contrived. It think it was going for a kind of charm that I can vaguely identify, but instead of reaching it it just achieves being annoying.
Ano Koro no Aoi Hoshi is by far the better slow, comfy manga. So is Tsurezure.
