In my eyes, avatarfagging is more rooted in the older days of the internet & even if these characters are somewhat closer to tumblr "OC"s that were created by ourselves than say Winnie the Pooh as a branded character, it's still not avatarfagging because it's not tied to some Twitter account or some shit.
