In 2016, Trump made a huge fuss bringing attention to Obama's birth certificate. He said he would make an announcement at a rally at a certain date, baiting all the media to be there.
He then trotted out veterans that spent 2 hours making speeches praising Donald Trump and supporting his policies, which the liberal MSM was forced to air, desperately waiting for their "gotcha" soundbyte of Trump sounding like a crazy birther.
Then Trump ended the entire rally saying "oh by the way Obama's a US citizen, I don't care about the birth certificate, end of story".

Obviously nobody shilling here remembers that. But I do.
