It's American data but given that's going to be the most robust sampling size I think it's worth mentioning, per Mat Piscatella who's basically the closest thing we have to an American Famitsu equivalent.
>During the first quarter ended March 2025, approximately half of all US owners of either the PS5 or Xbox Series also owned a Switch.

There was a similar inverted statistic around 2019, before covid, 9th gen consoles and ACNH's launch; 90% of American Switch owners owned a PS4 or Xbone.

Here's the first six months of Switch 1 demographics breakdown. Vast majority of early Switch owners were adult men. I really don't think it's weird that anybody that bought a Switch already played pretty much all of its late port third party offerings on the other consoles or PC that they probably own. Right now the standout performers up there >>713091712 are Fantasy Life and Rune Factory, which are new games and probably have more to offer to someone looking to expand their Switch 2's nascent library than a dressed-up Yakuza 0 or Hitman port. I don't think there's anything interesting to talk about regarding Switch 2 third party sales until we actually start seeing more new games.
tl;dr some publishers think like ol melty and believe that there's a significant number of dedicated hobbyists that have only used the Switch 1 for the last 8 years and have done god knows what throughout the 2010s.
