I wear heavy armor on all fronts because I like the aesthetic better than light or medium. It's not so bad, you just have to take the initiation towards camps/objectives first before all your light buddies arrive.

Saved my ass from friendlies accidentals too many times too, would've died if I was wearing light or medium.
