I really love the religion, but the followers, at least in the modern day, are a different story. I feel like most Christians I see these days are LARPing zoomers who are simply calling themselves Christian just to do so. While there's a lot I respect Christians for, there's also a lot that I would like to criticize—but have held my tongue out of a general respect for them.
If I were to join Christianity, I'd then switch to being critical a lot more since I would now want to see it flourish and free itself from as many obstacles as possible—but not before I took some time (likely a year or two, if not a few) to actually study it deeper, lest I be some random convert who started critiquing already established followers based on my own ideologies and beliefs.
