i disagree, i think u have this impression because ur factoring in biwomen as well as assuming cislesbians are inherently more femme presenting

the most common (& stereotypical) representation of a lesbian in media ranges from tomboy-to-mannish. when ppl see a stereotypical femme women they don't generally assume she's a lesbian. when people see some masc looking dyke they assume she's a lesbian

idk about this, femme/butch historically was always about aesthetics (& mannerisms). if anything contemporary lesbian culture (read: zoomer) is a lot less constrained into this dichotomy
