this is me and it's not so bad. i'm a tranny working at a company of like 15-20 people as the only in-house IT person. my main gripe with the place is that people seem to think anything that involves using a computer is my job so i get asked shit like "how do i create a zoom meeting" or "how do i change the view settings on my email" (ironically mostly by zoomers, seems like under 25s are incapable of troubleshooting minor issues on their own). that and it requires 100% office presence which sucks considering most people there get on my nerves, but honestly i get a decent amount of downtime most days and i just spend it studying for certs. pay isn't the greatest (americans would laugh if i gave my hourly wage in US dollars but for my shitty eastern bloc country i make a respectable salary ig) but i might try to ask for more later this year. ultimately i see myself trying to apply for different jobs next year (waiting to get surgeries and have like 18 months IT experience on my CV) but it's a chill enough place to be for now.
>the retarded 50 year old HR woman and drug addict company president doesn't know better
god this is so real. yesterday the HR lady texted me at like 8am being like "my computer won't turn on!!!" so i rushed into the office and it turned out it was just her HDMI cable that wasn't plugged in. you need to have a high level of tolerance for stupidity to work in this job.
